Who can request a lodge? Anyone can call for a lodge. Traditionally, one might take some tobacco to the facilitator, usually a trained medicine person, and ask that person to run a lodge for one’s healing. If you live in the Northern Colorado area and want to participate in one of our lodges, send me and email and we will let you know when there is a lodge available that you can attend.
Private Lodges: If you have requested a private lodge, please follow the guidlines below. Remember, there will always be another person from Spider’s circle present in the lodge, so remember to allow for this space.
1. Invite your support: Our lodge holds 6-8 people comfortably depending on one’s size. We have had as many as 10 in the lodge. Any more than this is uncomfortable and unsafe.
a. We start preparations and the fire several hours before you show up for hte lodge. If you change your mind you need to call us 4 hours before your scheduled lodge. Please do not waste our time, the time of our helpers who must travel here for the lodge or the resources.
2. What the group needs to bring:
a. Bring two packages of tobacco, one yard of cotton cloth , and a skein of red yarn for your group. We will let you know what color of cloth to bring. One package of tobacco is an offering for the faciltator and will not be returned to you.
b. Each group needs to bring a case of drinking water.
3. What each individual needs to bring:
a. The appropriate offering to cover your costs for wood, water, primary foods, and materials for the lodge. We do not make money on our lodges. However we must gather/ purchase wood and herbs for the lodge. Your contribution, helps us cover these costs. You may bring offerings for your ancestors and spirit guides, i.e. cloth, foods, crystals, etc.
b. Bring loose fitting clothes like shorts & T-shirt, shift dresses, lapas or wraps to wear in the lodge. There is no nudity in the lodge. Please prepare accordingly.
c. You may bring your small rattles and shakers that are not made of metal inside the lodge. there is only one drum inside the lodge, so you can let yours rest at home for the lodge.
d. Bring a couple towels, one to take with you in the lodge to sit upon, one for your cleaning after the lodge.
e. Each individual needs to bring a dish of food for the feast after the lodge.
f. Carpool as much as possible
g. Leave Jewelry and valuables at home. We will not assume responsibility for these if you loose them on the land.
